Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect what the product needs to work, we never sell your data, your video is never recorded, and payment details never touch our servers.

What we collect

• Account: email, display name, and profile photo (from you or your Google/Apple sign-in).
• Activity: the rooms you join, tasks you declare, starts, streaks, badges, ratings you leave, creators you follow, and listings you publish.
• Device: push-notification tokens if you enable alerts, and basic usage analytics (screens viewed, buttons tapped) via PostHog.

What we deliberately do NOT collect

• Video and audio are never recorded or stored. Live rounds stream through Daily.co and exist only in the moment.
• Card numbers and bank details go directly to Stripe. We store only order references and payout-account IDs.
• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, ever.

How we use it

To run rooms and match you into pods, personalize your feed, send alerts you asked for (round pushes, creator updates), process tickets and payouts, keep the community safe (reports, blocks), and understand what to improve.

Who we share it with

Only processors that make the Service work: Supabase (database & authentication), Daily.co (live video transport), Stripe (payments & payouts), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (analytics), and Resend (transactional email). Each receives only what its job requires.

What others can see

Pod-mates see your display name and task during a shared round. Your creator page shows your name, photo, follower count, ratings, and public listings. Your streaks, task history, and email are never public.

Your controls

• Edit your name, photo, and notification settings anytime in Settings.
• Camera style (face, task view, blur) is your choice in every round.
• Block or report anyone; blocked users can’t rejoin your pods.
• Email hello@startwithme.app to export or permanently delete your data — we complete deletion within 30 days.

Retention & cookies

We keep account data while your account is active. We use essential cookies for sign-in sessions and local storage for preferences (like dismissing the install banner) — no third-party advertising trackers.

Children

Start With Me is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
